In October 2020, Chopard proudly resumed its role as lead sponsor and official timekeeper of the Mille Miglia, Italy’s famous classic car rally, continuing a tradition that the Maison has upheld since 1988. Each year, Chopard’s commitment to this event provides an opportunity for the Maison’s co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele to show his passion for motor cars, by taking part in the 1,000 mile (1,600 km) endurance race that sees competitors complete a loop from Brescia to Rome and back. And each year, the Maison unveils a new collection of Mille Miglia watches to celebrate what is regularly dubbed the most beautiful race in the world. In this latest edition, a chronograph – the Mille Miglia GTS Azzurro Chrono in stainless steel (edition limited to 750 pieces) and with a dashboard-inspired dial – also joins the collection. This model features an elegant “Azzurro” blue dial, which contrasts superbly with the “Mille Miglia red” used for the detail of the hands and the instantly recognizable, arrow-shaped race logo framing the date window.
